Wicked Witch of the West
So I finished reading Wicked: The Life & Times of the Wicked Witch of the West last week and I've got to say that I was disappointed in the book.
The start of the book, all the way thru the middle section where Elphaba has gone underground was truly great - it really gave the entire Wizard of Oz story a fresh, plausible spin. But then, it just went south.
Once the Witch heads West, the book almost completely lost my attention. The story just loses all of its momentum for at least 100 pages. The ending of the book was OK, but not great. I'd have liked to see alot more scenes taken right out of the Oz movie, instead we only get a couple.
Overall, its a good book, but by no means great.
